The Author Spotlight series featured on this blog showcases writers and their work. Writing can be a fulfilling but lonely journey - so why not have some fun and make a few friends along the way? Let’s get to know Konrad Warner Sneed (@WarnerSneed):
What inspired you to start writing?
This is something I've wanted to do for a long time. Growing up, I loved superheroes like most people, because how can you not?
What are common traps/mistakes for aspiring writers?
There's a lot to learn that you just have to go through on your own and figure out. But if I could make some suggestions, plan out you books by chapters or events and definitely write down any ideas you have so you don't lose them.
What is something you loved but had to edit out of this book that was like sawing off a limb (isn’t writing fun)?
There was so much that changed about the original draft of the book. One of the biggest changes I made was the addition of the MC's mentor/teacher/guardian. He wasn't originally in it, but he now plays a huge part in the book.
Tell us a little bit about your story and what inspired you to write “The Fire Eye Kronicles: Kirikon: Kurse of the Tigris Orb".
Well, my series is "The Fire Eye Kronicles", but book one, being the only completed chapter of the franchise, is about a kid who obtains godlike power from an evil entity and targeted by a duo of vicious alien invaders who want to take the power back from him and will threaten his city to do so.
If you had to describe the main character in three words, what would those three words be?
Stubborn, strong, persistent.
